Obituary for Amado Moreno

Amado Moreno
LA BLANCA – Amado Moreno, 88, fell asleep peacefully in death on April 10, 2017 at his residence in La Blanca. He was born on September 13, 1928 in Donna, TX and was happily married to Margarita Moreno, his beloved wife of 62 years.
He is preceded in death by a daughter, Gloria M. Sparks; his parents, Candelario and Hijinia Moreno; and 14 siblings.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Margarita Y. Moreno; five children, Ramiro (Gloria) Moreno, Amado(Martha) Moreno Jr., both of Edinburg, Lisa Moreno, Margarita Moreno and Michael (Yadira) Moreno, all of La Blanca; 11 grandchildren, John Sparks, Joseph Sparks, Ramiro Moreno Jr., Rudy Moreno, Lisa Moreno, Amelia Moreno, Amado Moreno III, Sara Moreno, Andres Moreno, Clarissa Moreno and Nathania Moreno; four great-grandchildren, Ella Moreno, Landry Moreno, Sophia Moreno and Calista Sparks; a son-in-law, James Sparks; a sister-in-law, Herminia Moreno and numerous nieces and nephews.
Amado was an amorous husband, a caring father, a loving grandfather and kind neighbor. He was known for his strong faith in Jehovah and his sincere love for the people of his community. For 46 years he went door to door, conducted bible classes, gave public talks and participated in preaching and sharing the good news of the Kingdom of God. He did this obeying Jesus Christ commandment found in Matthew 28: 19, 20. Part of his preaching consisted in sharing God’s promise found in John 5: 28, 29 where it states: “Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life…” Throughout this life, Amado left clear that his desire was for people to draw close to Jehovah God and to do his will. We will remember him with love.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a Biblical discourse at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, April 13, 2017, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m., Friday, April 14, 2017, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park in Weslaco.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
