If you are someone who prefers to save rather than to spend big, then
cremation may be appealing to you. The price can vary when it comes to
different types of cremation. For example, a direct cremation will be your cheapest option as it occurs soon after death and does not require any expensive processes such as embalming. When compared to the prices of traditional burials, cremation costs cannot be beaten. While there is still the price of the urn and other small factors to consider, when compared to the often outrageous costs of burial, cremation is always the clear winner.
When a person is buried, this is typically one of the most harmful body disposition methods available. This is because, for most traditional burials, the body will have been embalmed beforehand. When a body is embalmed, it is injected with toxic chemicals that aid in the preservation of the corpse. Afterward, when the body is buried underneath the ground, eventually the process of decomposition will begin. For starters, a lot of caskets on the market are not biodegradable, which means they end up contributing further waste onto our planet. Additionally, when the body of the deceased begins its decomposition process all of those toxic chemicals used when embalming are then released into the soil, harming our Earth. When we choose cremation, however, we seriously cut down on the harm we contribute to the planet! If you are someone who strives to remain eco-friendly then this option may be for you!
Unlike
traditional burial, cremations result in a lot more flexibility. What we mean by this is that after your loved one is cremated, you and your family can expect to receive the ashes, which can then be distributed however you all choose. When a loved one is buried, however, there is no option to hold on to any piece of the deceased as they are buried underground. Additionally, there are also more options available with cremation. If you do not wish to hang on to the ashes but instead decide to scatter them, then you are free to make that choice!
One of the cons that a lot of people associate with cremation is the fact that there is no opportunity for closure like there is with a traditional burial. Typically, when a deceased individual is prepared to be buried, there is a viewing beforehand so that family and friends can say any final words or goodbyes.
