Emilia Abrego

Edinburg - Emilia "Emily" Abrego, 60, passed away Friday, July 23, 2021, at her residence in Edinburg.
She was loved by all who knew her. Emily loved all her friends at the courthouse, all the judges, lawyers, and staff. She enjoyed country music by K-Tex. Emily loved her family and all her neighbors, she will be greatly missed.
Emilia is preceded in death by her father, Juan Abrego; two brothers, Eleazar Abrego, Fidel Abrego; a nephew, Joel Anaya; and a granddaughter, Ashley K. Huizar; son-in-law, Pete Garcia.
Ms. Abrego is survived by her five children, Lisa Ann (Francisco) Cordova, Julie Ann (Jorge) Abrego, Laura Ann (Alex) Gutierrez, Emily Ann Villarreal Garcia, Jorge Homero (Dulce) Villarreal Jr.; 21 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; her mother, Juana Paz Abrego; 12 siblings, Ricardo Garza, Lucia Anaya, Santiago Abrego, Eliseo Abrego, Juan Abrego Jr., Rick Abrego, Martin Abrego, Joe Abrego, Maria Hilda Anaya Vandeveer, Melida "Tom" Abrego, Vickey Lynn Abrego, and Lucy Ann Foss.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. with a 6 p.m. rosary Tuesday, July 27, 2021, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral services will take place at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg.
