EDINBURG — Jorge Acosta, 73, died Monday, July 19, 2010, at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg.
Born in Cerritos, San Luis Potosi, Mexico, Mr. Acosta was formerly of Napa Valley, California and lived in Edinburg.
Mr. Acosta is preceded in death by his parents, Brautio and Petra Acosta; two brothers, Roman and Justo Acosta and two brothers-in-law, Roberto Mendoza and Jose Avila.
He is survived by his wife, Aucilia Acosta; a daughter, Jessica (Michael Martinez) Fernandez; two grandchildren, Adrian and Vanessa Fernandez all of Edinburg; three sisters, Maria (Jim) Gray of Weslaco, Dolores Mendoza of Valle Hermoso, Tamp., Mexico, Elpidia Avila of Cerritos, San Luis Potosi, Mexico and numerous nieces and nephews.
A rosary was held Tuesday, July 20, 2010, at Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg. Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m., today July 21, 2010, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
