MARIA ELENA ACOSTA EDINBURG - Maria Elena Acosta, 67, died Sunday, February 2, 2014, at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg. Born in Edinburg, Mrs. Acosta had lived there all of her life and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She is preceded in death by a son, Cristoval Acosta; her mother, Herminia Gonzalez; and two brothers, Santos Gonzalez and Felipe Gonzalez. Mrs. Acosta is survived by her husband, Jose Andres Acosta; four children, Andres (Maria R.) Acosta, Imelda Acosta, Jose Javier (Diana) Acosta, Veronica Acosta, all of Edinburg; five grandchildren; three sisters, Dolia Gonzalez, Aurora Gonzalez, Gloria Villarreal, all of Edinburg; a nephew, Eloy Dominguez, of San Antonio; and several other nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary today, February 4, 2014, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Wednesday, February 5, 2014, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
