CONCEPCIÓN ALANIZ EDINBURG - Concepción Alaniz, 95, entered into the glory of her eternal life Thursday, October 17, 2013, at her residence in Edinburg, surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Alaniz was born in Nuevo Leon, Mexico on December 8, 1917 and had lived in Edinburg most of her life. Her passion was cooking, caring for her plants, and above all caring for her family. She was a devoted wife and mother; her family meant everything to her. She is preceded in death by a daughter, Felicidad Alaniz; a son, Maximino Alaniz; and her parents, Maximino Luévano and Sotera Tovar. Concepción is survived by her husband of 75 years, Pedro Alaniz; five grandchildren, Yolanda Alaniz Chapa and Pedro Alaniz of Edinburg; José Alaniz of Seattle, WA; Ricardo Alaniz and Roberto Alaniz, also of Edinburg; five great-grandchildren: Michael Chapa, Tiffany Chapa, Adriana Alaniz, Max Alaniz, and Aleida Alaniz; a daughter-in-law, Emma Alaniz; and her devoted caregiver, Bety. Concepción will be profoundly missed by all her family and friends. A rosary was held Friday, October 18, 2013, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 9 a.m. today, October 19, 2013, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
