EDINBURG - Juanita Alaniz, 85, died Saturday, November 6, 2010, at her residence in Edinburg.
Born in Dr. Coss, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, she had lived in Edinburg most of her life and was a member of Divine Life Church.
She is preceded in death by her first husband, Guadalupe Alaniz; a son, Adelmiro Alaniz; two daughters, Adela Garcia and Abelia Alaniz; and a granddaughter, Veronica Alafa.
Ms. Alaniz is survived by her husband, Alfredo Leal; nine children, Adelfino Alaniz, Angie Sirianni, both of Fort Worth, Texas, Adan Alaniz, Belia Martinez, Sally Guerra, all of Edinburg, Albina Vargas, of Lubbock, Texas, Alberto Alaniz, of Milan, Michigan, Amadeo Alaniz, of Springtown, Texas and Arnoldo Alaniz, of Atlanta, Georgia; 46 grandchildren; 60 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Jacinta Salinas, of Mission, Angelita and Albina, both of Mexico.
Visitation will be from 1 to 9 pm, with a 7 pm prayer service today, November 8, 2010, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will be at 2 pm Tuesday, November 9, 2010, at Divine Life Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
