Alberto Rene Rodriguez
Edinburg – Alberto Rene Rodriguez, 65, passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at his residence in Edinburg.
Rene spent twenty-five years in the car business, starting out as a car salesman where he quickly gained a loyal customer base. His clients often returned to buy from him again, and even recommended him to their friends and family. Rene eventually advanced to management in the finance department, where he continued to excel and provide well for his family.
In his younger years, Rene was a talented musician, playing trumpet with the Edinburg Bobcat Band. On weekends, he also performed with La Union Mexicana, a local Tejano band. His love for the Dallas Cowboys started at the age of eight, and over the years, he was fortunate enough to attend several games, cheering on his favorite players: Emmitt Smith, Tony Romo, and Jason Witten.
Rene was also an avid golfer, enjoying weekend rounds with his compadre, Juan Gonzalez, and his co-workers. A true fan of classic rock, he had an extensive vinyl collection featuring his favorite bands. He attended countless concerts, including shows by Triumph, the Rolling Stones, AC/DC, and KISS, to name just a few.
Though he worked hard, Rene always looked forward to vacations with his beloved family. His favorite destination was Las Vegas, where he loved playing Craps and winning big money for his wife, Terri, to enjoy.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jose S. Rodriguez and Emma Cantu Rodriguez, and siblings, Joe Rodriguez, Guillermo Rodriguez, and Manuel Rodriguez.
Mr. Rodriguez is survived by his devoted wife, Terri Rodriguez, who lovingly cared for him throughout his affliction; two daughters, Sarah Yvonne Rodriguez (Gilbert) Ramirez and Lana Alexandra Rodriguez (Miguel) Fernandez; two grandchildren, Dahlia Monet Ramirez and Renee Alexandra Fernandez; his sister, Maria Teresita Hendricks; his sister-in-law, Arminda D. Salinas; and his brother-in-law, Gilbert Duarte.
A special thanks to Concord Hospice Care nurses, CNA’s, and his niece Melissa Montoya, who provided care and support for Mr. and Mrs. Rodriguez for over three years.
