Gustavo Eli Alegria

Gustavo Eli Alegria, 45, went to be with our Lord on Saturday, August 21, 2021, at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg.
Eli taught 2nd grade and pre-kinder classes at Donna ISD. Later he worked at Pathways Towards Independence at PSJA and Guerra Elementary where he helped enlighten the lives of many kinder students. He was a very devoted husband and father. His unconditional love and attention towards his family and friends will be forever missed but will be with us in our hearts forever.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Maria Zavala; paternal grandparents, Teofilo and Maria Elena Alegria; maternal aunt, Ludivina Perez; uncle Noe Alegria; and in-laws, Erasmo and Vicentita Hernandez.
Mr. Alegria is survived by his wife, Emily Hernandez-Alegria of San Juan; three children, Ella Faith Alegria, Emma Elyse Alegria, Eli Emmanuel Alegria, all of San Juan; and his mother, Maria Avila of Donna.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., with a 6 p.m. rosary Monday, August 30, 2021, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 9 a.m. Tuesday, August 31, 2021, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish in San Juan. Interment will follow at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
