Alicia Jimenez

Alicia Jimenez, 76, passed away Tuesday, August 1, 2023, at her residence in San Juan.
Alicia earned her Bachelor's and Master's degree in education from the University of Texas Pan-American. She was an elementary school teacher for many years at PSJA, and was elected as Teacher of the Year for the 1989 - 1990 school year. She was also the director of Kaydee Day Care School.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Concepcion and Manuela Aceves; and a brother, Jesus Aceves.
Mrs. Jimenez is survived by her husband of 55 years, Romeo Jimenez; two daughters, Katheryn Elaine (Rosendo) Cruz and Deborah Ann (Andrew) Layton; four grandchildren, Austin (Scarlett) Cruz, Andrea Cruz, Dylon Cruz, and Sidney Layton; and two sisters, Elena (Fernando) Santillan and Carmen (Joe) Pedraza.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. with a 6 p.m. rosary Thursday, August 3, 2023, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 12 noon Friday, August 4, 2023, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish in San Juan. Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery in McAllen.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
