MARIA ESTELA ALMAZAN EDINBURG – Maria Estela Almazan, 69, died Thursday, January 15, 2015, at Bayshore Medical Center in Houston, TX. Born in Mendez, Tamps. Mexico, she had lived in Edinburg most of her life. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Hilaria Sauceda; two brothers, Jose and Ruben Sauceda; and a sister, Irma Perez. Mrs. Almazan is survived by her husband, Jose Almazan; three children, Nellie (Eduardo) Gurrola, Silvia (Lauro) Guajardo, Mirella (Adrian) Rios; a niece, Maria G. (Mario) Cervantes; two sibings, Baldemar Sauceda, Agapita Camacho; in –laws, Pedro and Maria Almazan; four grandchildren, Margil Rios, Jr., Christian Gurrola, Jadrian and Janik Rios; four grandnieces, Cindy, Cynthia, and Maria Cervantes. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Sunday, January 18, 2015, at Memorial Funeral Home at 208 E. Canton Rd. in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. Monday, January 19, 2015, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
