GENARO ALONZO
PHARR - Genaro Alonzo, 93, died Saturday, May 29, 2010 at his residence in Pharr.
Born in Teocaltiche, Jalisco, Mexico, Mr. Alonzo had lived in Pharr most of his life and was a member of Parroquia Francisca Xavier Cabrini in Pharr.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Carmen Alonzo; his parents, Macedonio and Maria Alonzo; a brother, Toribio Alonzo; and a sister, Santos Alvarado.
Mr. Alonzo is survived by five sons, Juan (Dalia) Alonzo, Asencion (Maria) Alonzo, Amador (Azucena) Alonzo, Mario ( Maricela) Alonzo, all of Pharr, Miguel (Sandra) Alonzo of Mission; five daughters, Sebastina (Albert) Munoz of McAllen, Maria Alonzo of Alamo, Dolores (Hector) Longoria, Rosa (Jose) Solis, Carmen del Rosario (Ruben) Enriquez, all of San Juan; 28 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 pm, with a 7 pm rosary, today, June 1, 2010 at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will be at 2 pm, Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at Parroquia Francisca Xavier Cabrini in Pharr. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
