Raquel S. Alvarez

RAQUEL S. ALVAREZ ALAMO – Raquel S. Alvarez, 80, died Tuesday, April 29, 2014, at McAllen Medical Center. Born in Alamo, she had lived there all of her life. She is preceded in death by two brothers, Reynaldo and Ramiro Salinas. Mrs. Alvarez is survived by her husband, Julian Alvarez of Alamo; six children, Tomas (Irma) Alvarez, Julian Alvarez, Jr. both of Idaho, Maribel Pena, Cruz (Rosie) Alvarez, Ana Alvarez, all of Alamo, and Andrea (Alonso) Rivas of Pharr; 18 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; four brothers, Rogelio Salinas, Andres Salinas, Roberto Salinas and Raul Salinas, all of Alamo. The Alvarez family would like to express their gratitude to her caregiver, Elva Razo for 15 years of care, love and attention. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service today, May 1, 2014, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Friday, May 2, 2014, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
