AMEL R. ZAMORA
SAN JUAN – Amel R. Zamora, peacefully passed away Friday, August 30th, at DHR Health Hospice in Edinburg, surrounded with the love of family by his bedside. A carpenter and farm laborer his whole life, he always put his family first. Together with his wife of 56 years, they instilled in their children the importance of hard work and providing for their families. Family was everything to him, especially all his grandchildren. He loved summer trips to Angel Fire in the Enchanted Circle of New Mexico, where he would hike and fish to his heart's content, making so many wonderful memories with his family. After the passing of his loving wife, whom he had dedicated his life to caring for, his heart could not bear the thought of a world without her. After a quick and hard-fought battle with dementia, he has joined the love of his life. His departure brings his family great sorrow, but his love, humor, and playful nature leave them with memories of a life full of laughter, joy and wisdom. He is preceded in death by his wife, Sara G. Zamora; parents, Jose and Herminia Zamora; a granddaughter, Sara Elena Bernal; brothers Gabriel Zamora, Abelardo Zamora, Israel Zamora; and a sister Mercedes Marquez.
