JESUS "EL QUATE" ANAYA, SR.
PHARR - Jesus "El Quate" Anaya, Sr., 84, died Tuesday, February 21, 2012, at Las Palmas Healthcare Center in McAllen.
Born in General Bravo, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, Mr. Anaya had lived in Pharr most of his life.
He is preceded in death by a twin brother, Jose Anaya; four sisters, Ascencion Cantu, Cruz Morales, Maria Garza, Ninfa Anaya; and his parents, Felipe and Abelina Anaya.
Jesus is survived by his wife, Maria Socorro Anaya of Pharr; six children, Jesus (Janie) Anaya, Jr. of Pharr, Arnulfo (Melanie) Anaya of Alamogordo, New Mexico, Irma Anaya (Abiel) Cantu of Raymondville, Jose Angel (Celia) Anaya, of San Juan, Nora Anaya Cazares of Alamo, and Adolfo (Sonia) Anaya of Pharr; 16 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Martin Anaya of Pharr; three sisters, Elvira Gutierrez, Cristela Quintanilla, both of Edinburg, and Manuela Reyna of Harlingen.
A rosary was held Thursday, February 23, 2012, at Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg. Funeral service will be at 12 noon today, February 24, 2012, at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Pharr. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
