Andrew Flores, Sr.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Andrew Flores Sr., 85, of McAllen, Texas. Who left us on February 20, 2025, after a long, fulfilling life. Born on October 23, 1939, in Corpus Christie, Texas, to Pedro S. Flores and Maria Zamudio Flores, Andrew was the cherished brother of Pedro Flores Jr., J.J. Flores, Juan Flores, Maria Magdalena Rocha, and Ester E. Ortiz.

After graduating from high school, Andrew proudly served in the U.S. Air Force until 1965. Following his service, he worked as a postman and attended college receiving a degree in Political Science. He married Pearl I. Flores, and together they built a beautiful life, nurturing their family with love and joy. Upon retirement, Andrew found immense happiness playing with his grandchildren, indulging in his passion for reading, and attending church. A devoted sports enthusiast, he loved football, baseball, and golf. 

He is now reunited in spirit with his beloved parents, Pedro and Maria, his wife pearl, and his brothers Pedro and Cruz. Andrew is survived by his loving children: Andres Flores Jr. And wife Annie, Diana Flores and husband Joe, David Flores, Nick Flores and wife Marisa. His six cherished grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was also blessed to spend the last year of his life living with his grandson, Andres Flores III, and his wife, Gina Flores. Andrew passed peacefully at home surrounded by family.

Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Friday, February 28, 2025 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in McAllen. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in La Feria. Military Honors will be conducted by VFW McAllen Post 8788.

Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
