GUADALUPE Z. "LUPE" BADILLO EDINBURG — Guadalupe Z. "Lupe" Badillo, 85, died Monday, April 20, 2015, at Amara Hospice in Edinburg. Mr. Badillo was born in Yorktown, TX and had lived in Edinburg most of his life. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Edinburg. Lupe loved the outdoors and spending time with his grandkids. He is preceded in death by his parents, Simon and Maria Badillo; a brother, Francisco Badillo, Sr.; and two sisters, Juana and Rosa Badillo. Lupe is survived by his wife, Leonarda Badillo of Edinburg; five children, Robert Badillo, Roel (Jennifer) Badillo, Rolando (Elvira) Badillo, Rene Badillo, all of Edinburg, David (Esmeralda) Badillo of Hidalgo; seven grandchildren, Justin, Kendall, Sarah, Marcos, Shelby, Remse, Jon David; a great-grandchild, Justin S. Badillo; a brother, Fidencio (Juana) Badillo of Edinburg; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary today, April 22, 2015, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 3 p.m. Thursday, April 23, 2015, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr. Pallbearers will be Roel Badillo, Rolando Badillo, David Badillo, Justin Badillo, Marcos Badillo, Jon David Badillo. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Badillo and Rene Badillo. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
