Jo Ann Bair

Jo Ann Bair, 83, passed away on June 11, 2017, at Waterford Gardens Senior Living in Mission. She was born on July 2, 1933 in Chillicothe, TX to Francis L. and Edna Butler Elliott.
Jo Ann grew up in Fort Worth, TX. She moved to McAllen in 1956, where she met and married Howard Bair in 1958. Jo Ann enjoyed gardening, baking and decorating cakes, reading, sewing, quilting, ceramics playing games and doing puzzles.
Jo Ann is survived by her children, Donna (Allen) Jackson, Guy (Julie) Bair, Terry (Randy) Castleman, Barbara Garcia and Lori Bair; ten grandchildren, Jeffrey Jackson, Ryan and Christopher Castleman, Sharon (Julio) Garcia, Amanda (Nick) Rios, Natalie (Brian) Bauer, Nicholas Garcia, Audrey Garcia, Steven (Christina) Bair, Wesley (Katie-Jane) Hermes; 20 great-grandchildren, Adrian (Lora) Jackson, Daniel and Taylor Jackson, Abbey, Jude and Harrison Garcia, Nicky and Jasmine Rios, Emma and Erin Bair, Jewely, Jayde and Louie Taylor, Baby Bair (due in December), Leia Castleman, Derek O’Dell, Ava Bauer, Kyleigh and Nolan Garcia and Tyler Glossip; a great-great grandson, Kasen Jackson.
Jo Ann is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Howard; her brothers, Bobby, James and Edward Elliott; a sister, Wanda Elliott; a son-in-law, Leo Garcia; a great-great grandson, Liam Jackson.
The family would like to thank the staff at Waterford Gardens Senior Living for loving and taking care of her over the last two years, and those at DHR and Gracia Hospice Care.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, June 16, 2017, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Graveside service will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 17, 2017, at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
