Severino J. Balansag Sr.

SEVERINO J. BALANSAG, SR. EDINBURG - Severino J. Balansag, Sr., 91, died Monday, April 14, 2014, at Senior Care of Edinburg. Mr. Balansag had lived in the Philippines most of his life, and lived in Edinburg for the last 13 years. He is preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Z. Balansag; his parents, Ignacio and Gregoria Balansag; two brothers, Olegario J. Balansag and Narciso J. Balansag; and two sisters, Teodulfa Balansag Clavecilla, Victoriana Balansag Cila. Severino is survived by a son, Severino (Charity) Balansag, Jr. of Edinburg; four daughters, Rosie Joey (+Jerrie) Tandoy of the Philippines, Carol Jane (Edson) Gulle, Roselyn Z. (Samuel) Defino both of Edinburg, Jocelyn Rose (Ranny) Devera of Rio Grande City; eight grandchildren; and a brother, Isidro Balansag, of the Philippines. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. celebration of life Thursday, April 17, 2014, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral Service will take place at 9 a.m. Friday, April 18, 2014, at Edinburg Seventh-Day Adventist Church. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
