MIGUEL BALDERAS SAN JUAN – Miguel Balderas, 88, died Monday, December 15, 2014, at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg. Born in China, NL, Mexico, he had lived in San Juan since 1979 and was formerly of Pharr. He is preceded in death by his parents, Guadalupe and Guadalupe Balderas; two brothers, Pedro Balderas, Justo Balderas; and a sister Tomasa Balderas. Mr. Balderas is survived by his wife, Raquel Balderas of San Juan; three children, Miguel (Sylvia) Balderas, Jr., of Edinburg, Juan ( Rosalinda) Balderas of Sullivan City, Yolanda (Jose Arturo) Mosqueda of Donna; eight grandchildren, Michael Balderas, Sally Balderas Gonzalez, Johnny Jonathan “JJ” Balderas, Dr. Valeska Balderas Hayungs, Juan Octavio Balderas, Raiven Balderas, Jose Arturo Mosqueda, Jr., David Mosqueda; two great-grandchildren, Christian Balderas Ruiz, Devin Balderas Gonzalez; and two brothers, Eugenio Balderas of San Juan, and Jose Maria Balderas of Houston, Tx. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Tuesday, December 16, 2014, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 17, 2014, at Resurrection Catholic Church in Alamo. Interment will follow at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
