JOSIE "MANCA" GONZABA BALDERAZ
EDINBURG – Josie "Manca" Gonzaba Balderaz, 72, died Friday, December 18, 2009, at Solara Hospital in McAllen.
Ms. Balderas was born in Raymondville and had lived in Edinburg most of her life. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Edinburg.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Beatriz Flores and Juan Gonzaba; a brother, Fabian Chavez; two sisters, Elvira Salinas and Janie Munoz; and an aunt, Rafaela Flores.
Ms. Balderas is survived by four children, Beatrice (Rudy) Villarreal, Daren (Judy Jungerheld) Balderaz, Luis (Brenda) Balderaz, Rey (Gaby) Balderaz, all of Edinburg; 11 grandchildren, Latisha, Adrian, Ivan and Rudy Villarrreal, Danny, Ryan and Anthony Richardson, Jordan and Jadyn Balderaz, Maya and Diego Balderaz; three great-grandchildren, Devan, Jeramiah and Kiandre Richardson; a brother, Ramon (Agueda) Gonzaba, of Edinburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 pm, with a 7 pm rosary Monday, December 21, 2009, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton, in Edinburg. Funeral service will be at 10 am Tuesday, December 22, 2009, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg. Pallbearers will be Rey Balderaz, Daren Balderaz, John Gonzaba, Rudy Villarreal, Ivan Villarreal and Adrian Villarreal. Honorary pallbearers will be Luis Balderaz, Jordan Balderaz, Alexis Gonzaba, Diego Balderaz, Ramon Gonzaba, John Salinas, John Andrew Gonzaba and Russ Munoz.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
