Barry Paul Barnett

EDINBURG - Barry Paul Barnett, 60, died Sunday, August 19, 2012, at his residence. Born on August 16, 1952, in Denver, CO, Barry lived in Edinburg all of his life. He graduated from Edinburg High School in 1970 and attended UT Pan American. Barry worked for Brumleys Store for men in Edinburg and later moved to San Antonio to work for T&L Produce Company with his father, Jack Barnett. He traveled all over the United States and later moved back to Edinburg to start his own business, "Gator Produce Company". Barry recently retired just a few years ago. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed hunting. He loved his niece and nephews and enjoyed his friend's children greatly. Barry will be greatly missed by his friends and family. A special thanks to Bertha and Lina, who have been with the Barnett family for many years. Mr. Barnett is preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Lorene Barnett. Barry is survived by his twin brother, Samuel "Sammy" (Stephanie) Barnett, of Edinburg; a niece, Samantha Barnett, of McAllen; nephews, Jake, Joshua, Matthew and Joseph, all of Edinburg; and an aunt, Jean Horne, of San Agustine, TX; and many cousins from Houston, TX and Pheonix, AZ. A memorial service will be held at 7 pm, Thursday, August 23, 2012, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, 208 East Canton in Edinburg. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
