SAN JUAN – Vladimir “Güero” Barreiro, 70, died Wednesday, March 11, 2015, at Amara Hospice in Edinburg. Born in McAllen, he had lived in San Juan for 41 years and previously in Harlingen. He is preceded in death by his parents, Tirso and Trinindad Barreiro; three brothers, Rene, Rogelio and Ruben Barreiro. Mr. Barreiro is survived by his wife, Ernestina Barreiro of San Juan; two sons, Anthony (Nadina) Barreiro of Port Isabel and Joaquin (Mary) Barreiro of Elizabeth Town, Kentucky; three grandchildren, Ashley Guadalupe, Anthony Cuauhtémoc and Nicholas Vladimir Barreiro; four sisters, Olga (Arturo) Ramirez of Donna, Juanita (Cesar) Barrera of McAllen, Estela (Mack) McKrancy of Florida, Margot Barreiro of Sharyland; four brothers, Elicer (Ceci) Barreiro, Leonel (Leonor) Barreiro, Javier Barreiro, all of McAllen and Arnoldo (Minnie) Barreiro of Illinois; one sister-in-law, Carmen A. Gonzalez of McAllen; and numerous nieces and nephews Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Thursday, March 12, 2015, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m., Friday, March 13, 2015, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in San Juan. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
