LEONARDA “NAYA” BARRERA SAN JUAN – Leonarda “Naya” Barrera, 92, died Friday, December 7, 2012, at Solara Hospital in Mcallen. Mrs. Barrera lived in San Juan most of her life. She is preceded in death by her husband, Eusebio Barrera Jr.; parents, Eduardo and Genoveva Villarreal; two sisters, Julia Gonzalez, Lucia Ortiz; one brother, Marcelo Villarreal; one great grandchild, Venessa Salas. Leonarda is survived by her four children, Rene (Lupita) Barrera of San Antonio, TX, Alicia (Pascual) Trevino of Pharr, Ruben (Florinda) Barrera of Amarillo, TX, and Aurora (Pete) Ramos of San Juan; 16 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren; and 17 great- great grandchildren; brother, Felipe Villarreal of Corpus Christi, TX. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 pm with a 7 p.m. rosary today, December 9, 2012, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral services will be held at 10 am on Monday, December 10, 2012 at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Interment will follow at San Juan Cemetery. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
