Maria P. Barrera

Maria P. Barrera, 80, entered eternal rest on March 26, 2020.
Born in Pharr, Mrs. Barrera was formerly of Alamo and currently resided in Delta Lake.
She is preceded in death by a grandson, Alonzo "Lonzie" Benito Barrera; her parents, Pedro and Luz Palacios; and three brothers, Rafael, Julian, and Pete Palacios. Her son, Isidoro "Izzy" Barrera, joined her in heaven on Friday, September 24, 2021.
Mrs. Barrera is survived by her husband of 63 years, Alonzo Barrera; children, Benito "Benny" Barrera of McAllen, Margarita Barrera (Ramiro) Avila of Edinburg, and Cesar Barrera of McAllen; five grandchildren, Jeannette (Javier) Guzman, Yvette (Gregorio) Molina, both of Edinburg, Julian Avila of San Antonio, Amy Avila of Dallas, Ana Avila of Edinburg; and four siblings, Consuelo (+Apolonio) Sandoval, Irene (Juan Manuel) Fuentes, Diamantina (Alvaro) Gonzalez, and Mario Humberto (Myrna) Palacios.
A memorial service will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with a rosary at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 2, 2021, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, 208 East Canton in Edinburg.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
