Melba Barrera

Melba Barrera 63, passed away Thursday March 2, 2023, in Edinburg.
The love for her daughters, granddaughters, siblings and entire family was like no other. Melba was a caring and devoted educator for more than 30 years. Melba enjoyed her life attending events for her granddaughters and spending time with family. She will be dearly missed.
Mrs. Barrera is survived by her two daughters, Micaela (Jason Villarreal) Salas, Margot Salas (Clyde) Watson; three granddaughters, Madison Layla, Melany "G.W." Gabriella, Malayna Alexia and two siblings, Juan Abel (Berta) Barrera and Martha Barrera.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jorge Salas, parents, Regulo Juan Barrera and Elfida Munoz.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. with a 6 p.m. rosary Sunday, March 5, 2023, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Monday March 6, 2023, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Cremation will take place at Memorial Cremation Center in Edinburg. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
