DOMINGO “MINGO” BARRIOS

EDINBURG – Domingo “Mingo” Barrios, 93, died Saturday, September 11, 2010, at his residence in Edinburg.

Born in San Marcos, Texas, Mr. Barrios had lived in Edinburg most of his life. He was a veteran of the US Army, serving during World War II and was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Aurelio and Concepcion Barrios; three brothers; and four sisters.

Mr. Barrios is survived by his wife, Julia Barrios, of Edinburg; a daughter, Ophelia (Juan Diego) Trevino, of Edinburg; three grandchildren, Cristina (Joe) Gonzalez, Norma (Ray Mora) Trevino, Dina (Chris) Parras; seven great-grandchildren, Joey, Danny, Bianca, Matthew Ray, Jennifer, J.C. and Juliah.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 pm, with a 7 pm rosary today, September 12, 2010, at Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg. Funeral service will be at 10 am Monday, September 13, 2010, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg. Military honors will be conducted by VFW Post 8788 of McAllen.

Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
