Pedro Basaldua

PEDRO BASALDUA, SR. PHARR - Pedro Basaldua, Sr. 83, died Friday, August 15, 2014, at Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen. Born in Bishop, TX, he had lived in Pharr most of his life. Mr. Basaldua is preceded in death by his wife, Maria Louisa Basaldua; parents, Fructuoso and Carmen Basaldua; sister-in-law, Hermila Basaldua; and a nephew, Fructuoso "TJ" Basaldua. He is survived by five children, Ramiro (Noelia) Basaldua of Palmview, Yolanda (Rafael) Velazquez, Saul Basaldua, Pedro Basaldua, Jr., and Dora Basaldua, all of Pharr; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three brothers, Ernesto Basaldua, Jesus (Lidia) Basaldua, both of Caldwell, Idaho, Jose (Irma) Basaldua of Notus, Idaho; one sister, Maria E. (Alfredo) Solis of Pharr; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary today, August 17, 2014, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. Monday, August 18, 2014, at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Pharr. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.
