ROLANDO BASALDUA ALAMO – Rolando Basaldua, 49, passed away Wednesday, August 20, 2014, at Doctor’s Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg. Born in McAllen, he had lived there most of his life and in Alamo the last 16 years. He is preceded in death by his brother, Sergio Flores. Rolando is survived by his wife, Sandra Santana Basaldua of Alamo; four children, Rolando Jose, Michael Anthony, Esmeralda Renee and Tatianna Victoria Basaldua, all of Alamo; his mother, Yolanda Flores of San Juan; four siblings, Roberto (Sylvia) Basaldua of Pharr, Mary (Enrique) Castro, Cindy Flores and Pete Flores, all of San Juan; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 3 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary today, August 22, 2014, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 23, 2014, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Donna. Interment will follow at Donna City Cemetery. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
