SAN JUAN - Jose Maria Benavidez, 49, died Tuesday, March 8, 2012, at Solara Hospital in McAllen

Born in Caldwell, Idaho, Mr. Benavidez lived in San Juan for the past 25 years.

Mr. Benavidez is survived by his wife, Maria De Los Angeles Benavidez of San Juan; two children, Eunice and Jose Julian Benavidez; mother, Criselda Benavidez, all of San Juan; a brother, Enrique (Sabina) Benavidez, Jr., of San Antonio, Texas; four sisters, Rebecca (Alberto Gonzalez) Benavidez, Diana (David) Luna, Norma (Elizandro) De Hoyos, all of Pharr, and Veronica Benavidez of San Juan.

A prayer service was held Wednesday, March 7, 2012, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m., today, March 8, 2012 at Iglesia Buenas Nuevas Pentecostes in Pharr. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.

Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
