Benito R. Gonzalez, 95, with great sadness passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at his residence in Edinburg.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Maura Gonzalez Garza; daughter, Mary Reyna; son, Juan Benito Gonzalez; grandson, Ricky Ricardo Gonzalez; parents, Domingo and Marcelina Gonzalez; three brothers; and two sisters.
Mr. Gonzalez is survived by his seven children, Domingo Gonzalez, Elida Gonzalez, Nora Elia (Jessie) Garza, Ofelia (Juan) Abrego, Mary Lou (Al) Mancias, Artemio Gonzalez, Rigoberto (Amber) Gonzalez; 22 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; three siblings, Octavio Gonzalez, Marcela Garza Gonzalez, Aurora Gonzalez.
The family would like to give special thanks to SJ Hospice Care in Weslaco, TX; and for his two providers, Rose Singleterry and Michelle Abrego for their service of care.
Visitation will be held 5 to 8 p.m. with a 6 p.m. rosary Sunday, June 2, 2024, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. Monday, June 3, 2024, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
