Arcy was a faithful champion in the fight against ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease. Diagnosed in 2015, Arcy's fight surpassed all medical life-expectancy measures. As ALS progressed in her body, so did her faith, strength, and passion for life. Her advocacy efforts included her "Keeping the Faith" team which raised awareness and funds in the fight against ALS. Her life will continue to inspire members of the ALS community.
An avid explorer, she traveled the world, absorbing the cultures, sounds, and the warm sun. Her explorations led her into the depths of the seas observing God's magnificence as a certified scuba-diver. She loved fashion, music and high-heels, her beauty shown inside and out. Her smile entered the room with warmth and often grew wider as she played with her dog Lola.
Her professional career was in her community, as an employee of Hidalgo County for 26 years. Her talent and leadership were highly regarded and was honored with two-consecutive term appointments as the Hidalgo County Auditor in the last four years of her service. As a first-generation college graduate, she held a Bachelor Degree in Accounting and a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the University of Texas Pan American and was a Certified Public Accountant.
