EDINBURG — Betty L. Boyd, 85, died Monday, January 16, 2012, at Solara Hospital in Edinburg.
Born in Carthage, Illinois, Mrs. Boyd had lived in Edinburg most of her life.
Betty is preceded in death by her husband, W.L. Boyd, Jr; her parents, Myles and Sarah Stice; and one brother, James Martin Stice.
She is survived by three children, Sandra Ann (Chip) Sparrow of Weslaco, Martin (Carolyn) Boyd of Albion, Michigan, and Andy (Debbie) Boyd of Edinburg; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one niece; and two nephews.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m., with family present from 4 to 6 p.m. today, January 18, 2012, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 East Canton in Edinburg. Funeral Service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, January 19, 2012, at First United Methodist Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens in McAllen.
