Guadalupe Briones

GUADALUPE M. BRIONES PHARR - Guadalupe M. Briones, 87, died Friday, July 6, 2012, at her residence in Pharr. Mrs. Briones was born in Pharr and had lived there most of her life. She is preceded in death by her husband, Pedro G. Briones; and a daughter, Ofelia Briones. Mrs. Briones is survived by two sons, David (Graciela) Briones, of Cottage Grove, Minnesota, Pedro (Maria) Briones Jr., of Pharr; four daughters, Aurora (Hector) Montez, of Pharr, Maria Elena (Ruben) Salinas, of Porter, Texas, Rebecca (Jose) Cavazos, of Kingsville, Texas, Hermelinda (Rey Perez) Rosales, of Humble, Texas; 24 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; and 20 great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary today, July 8, 2012, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place Monday, July 9, 2012, at St. Jude's Catholic Church in Pharr. Interment will follow at Guadalupe Cemetery in Pharr. Pallbearers will be Abelardo Montez, Eduardo Montez, Orlando Franco, Jimmie Lee Castro Jr., Ruben Salinas Jr. and Arturo Palomo. Honorary pallbearer will be Michael Gongora. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
