SAN JUAN: Cayetano "Cayo" Cabrieles, 100, passed away Tuesday, September 18, 2018, at Las Palmas Healthcare Center in McAllen.
Born in Linares, Nuevo Leon, he lived most of his life in San Juan and was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish since 1946. Cayetano strength to work hard as a migrant worker was his family, he dedicated his life to inculcate his children traditional values that they appreciate today. Cayo worked for P.S.J.A. School District for 20 years. Mr. Cabrieles enjoyed fishing and deer hunting. In December 21, 2014, his wife passed away after 74 years of marriage, today they have reunited for eternity. Cayetano will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Mr. Cabrieles is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Juana Maria Cabrieles.
He is survived by four children, Gualberto (Nilda) Cabrieles, Preciliano (Irene) Cabrieles, both of Mission, Maria del Socorro "Coco" (Salomon) Aranda, Carmen (+Carlos) Gomez, both of San Juan; seven grandchildren, Hiram, Erica (Mark), Yvonne, Ivette, Cesar Rene "Papo" (Lisa), Veronica (Bert), Juan Carlos; ten great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Wednesday, September 19, 2018, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 1 p.m. Thursday, September 20, 2018, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens in McAllen.
