NICHOLAS ISAAC “NICK” CADENA

McAllen – Nicholas Isaac “Nick” Cadena, 30, passed away Thursday, January 3, 2019, at his residence in McAllen.

Nicholas was born in Harlingen but lived in McAllen all his life. He was skilled in auto mechanics. He was a jack of all trades and enjoyed the challenge. Nick had a passion for animals especially dogs and always managed to make a home for them. His hobbies consisted of surfing, BMX, Hot rods, motorcycles, skateboarding and BBQing with his friends.

Nick was the type of person who was always willing to help anyone in need. In his short life Nick made an abundance of friends. He will be remembered as a jokester with a big heart who enjoyed making others laugh.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Jose Guadalupe Recio.

Nick is survived by his mother, Virginia R. Cadena; his father, Leroy Cadena; a brother, Kristopher Cadena, all of McAllen; maternal grandmother, Ofelia Recio of Donna; and paternal grandparents, Leola and Rogelio Cadena, of Weslaco.

Visitation will be held from 1 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Sunday, January 6, 2019, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 12 noon Monday, January 7, 2019, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish in San Juan. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.

Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
