LINDA RAYE CAMERON MCALLEN – Linda Raye Cameron, 70, died Sunday, September 21, 2014, at her daughter’s residence in Edinburg. Born in Providence, KY, Mrs. Cameron had lived in McAllen most of her life. Linda was strong in her faith and active in the community. She was a founding member of Trinity United Methodist Church, a participant in the Emmaus community, active in Parents without Partners, an officer for The Magic Valley Chapter of Professional Secretaries International. A beauty queen and true southern belle as well as an avid Hunter and Fisher, she always nailed the biggest buck on the lease and won many trophies from her boat the “Linda Raye” off of Port Mansfield. She made an impression on everyone who met her as her loving nature was displayed in her big smile. From Port Mansfield up to Mission, she was fondly referred to as “The Redhead” and will be deeply missed. She is preceded in death by her husband, William Cameron. Linda is survived by a daughter, Deanna (Oscar) Trevino; six grandchildren, Stephanie Kiser, Jennifer Trevino, Jeanise Garcia, Vanessa Trevino, Andres Salazar, Desiree Zambrana; and six great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., with a 7 p.m. prayer service Wednesday, September 24, 2014, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Thursday, September 25, 2014, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Edinburg. Interment will take place in Kentucky at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 1801 Trenton Rd. McAllen, TX 78504. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
