ZARAGOSA CANALES
SAN ANTONIO, TX/PHARR - Zaragosa Canales, 87, died Friday, March 20, 2009, at his residence in San Antonio.
Born in Salineno, Texas Mr. Canales had lived in San Antonio for one year and was formerly of Pharr. He was a veteran of the US Army serving during World War II.
Mr. Canales is survived by his wife, Consuelo G. Canales, of San Antonio; three daughters, Alma (Steve Espinoza) Canales, of Waco, Texas, Yolanda Canales Herrera, of San Antonio, Ludy Canales, of Austin, Texas; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Lupito Canales, of Roma and Humberto Canales, of Edinburg.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 pm, with a 7 pm rosary today, March 22, 2009, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will be at 2 pm Monday, March 23, 2009, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr. Military honors will be conducted by American Legion Post 101 of Pharr.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
