EDINBURG – Anna R. Cantu, 51 died Sunday, August 28, 2016, at her residence in Edinburg.
Born in Edinburg, Anna had lived there all of her life. She received her Associates Degree in Nursing from Pan American University in 1987. Anna had a soft spot for animals. She also enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family at the beach. Anna found joy in visiting the sick as a Eucharist Minister in her parish, St. Joseph Catholic Church in Edinburg. She also helped with St. Vincent at Holy Family Catholic Church in Edinburg. A Special thank you to her past and present co-workers who were a source of comfort to her.
She is preceded in death by her father, Juan Ruiz.
Anna is survived by a son, Alexander Cantu; her mother, Leonila Ruiz; a sister, Maria Del Carmen (John) Flores; and a nephew, Zeke Flores.
Visitation will be held 6 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Wednesday, August 31, 2016, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 1, 2016, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment of cremated remains will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
