DOMINGO CANTU, JR. ALAMO – Domingo Cantu Jr., 58, died Friday, September 6, 2013, at McAllen Heart Hospital. Born in McAllen, Mr. Cantu had lived in Alamo since 1999 and was formerly of San Juan. He was a truck driver and enjoyed road trips with his family. He is preceded in death by his parents, Domingo Cantu Sr. and Gertrudis Cantu. Mr. Cantu is survived by his wife, Delma Cantu; three children, Frances Cantu, Domingo (Clara) Cantu III, Normalinda Cantu (Rene Jr.) Suarez, all of Alamo; six grandchildren, Domingo Cantu IV, Rebecca Cantu, Valeria Cantu, Victoria Cantu, Liliana Cantu and Nayeli Suarez; a sister, Ludivina Cantu (Ramon) Gonzalez; a brother, Rolando († Velma) Cantu, both of San Juan; two brothers-in-law, Rodolfo Jr. (Diana) Barreiro, of Canyon Lake, Texas and Alejandro (Maria) Barreiro, of Mission; three sisters-in-law, Esperanza Barreiro (Edward) Zambrano, Melissa Barreiro, both of Edinburg, Yolanda (Felix) Rocha, of Pharr; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Tuesday, September 10, 2013, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, September 11, 2013, at Resurrection Catholic Church in Alamo. Interment will follow at San Juan Cemetery. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
