SAN JUAN - Gertrudis V. Cantu, 81, died Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at LifeCare Hospital of South Texas in McAllen.
Born in Mendez, Tamps., Mexico, Mrs. Cantu had lived in San Juan since 1966 and was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish in San Juan.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Domingo Cantu, Sr.
Mrs. Cantu is survived by four children, Rolando (+Velma) Cantu, Roel Cantu, Ludivina C. (Raymond) Gonzalez, all of San Juan, Domingo (Delma) Cantu, Jr. of Alamo; ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Santos Vera of San Juan; and a sister, Irma Davila of McAllen.
Visitation will take place from 5 to 9 pm, with a 7 pm rosary, today, February 24, 2011 at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will be 10 am, Friday, February 25, 2011 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish in San Juan. Interment will follow at San Juan Cemetery.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
