Wyman Duane Card Jr. of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, passed away, surrounded by his loving family, February 27, 2022, in McAllen, Texas.
He was born August 29, 1947 to Wyman Arthur Card Sr. and Erma Ruth Nelson in Flandreau South Dakota. He grew up and attended school in Trent, South Dakota until he entered the Navy. On April 9, 1966, he was united in marriage to Millie Marie Westlake in Sioux Falls, SD. Out of that union they had three children, Kimberly Kaye (Larson), Paul Duane, and James Wade Card.
Wyman was a very talented man who worked at various jobs throughout his life. He was a farmhand, mechanic, truck driver, construction worker, owner operator, mobile home repair man, electrician, plumber, jack of all trades, and process specialist at Hutchinson Technology until his retirement.
A good man who worked hard providing for his family. Unselfishly doing for and sharing his knowledge with others. Summers he made his home at Lake Thompson / Lake Henry and he wintered in San Juan, Texas.
His pleasures were simple, hunting, fishing, Busch Light, crocheting, Dot’s Pretzels, NASCAR, (Jimmy Johnson and Kyle Larson) football, (Long time Patriots fan and recent Buccaneers fan, P.S. I think #12 had something to do with it), Chevy trucks, shredded wheat, pineapple, Snickers ice cream bars, Sudoku, game shows, computer games, old westerns, crime and science fiction TV and movies but his favorite pleasure was tinkering.
He is survived by Millie, his children Kimberly and Jamie, four grandchildren Jonathan Dose, David Larson, Jennalee Larson and Landon Card.
Two great-grandsons James and Leighton Dose.
His sister Lyla Kollbaum of Anthon, IA
A brother Ivan Card (Cheryl) Card of Brandon,SD
His aunt Betty Railsback of Bellmont, MI
A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, friends and a long list of lifetime friends.
He was proceeded in death by his grandparents, parents and infant son Paul.
Celebration of Life pending.
Expressions of condolences can be sent to his family at his winter home at 400 Citrus Circle in San Juan, Texas 78589.
