DAN CARDENAS EDINBURG - Dan Cardenas, 57, entered into eternal rest to be with our Lord Friday, April 5,2013. He was a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, friend and coach. Danny was born and raised in Edinburg. He was proud to serve our children as a dedicated coach in his hometown. Danny always encouraged everyone to do their very best in life and stressed education above all else. His love for the Santa Rita Ranch brought him a sense of tranquility and peace. Everyone knew Danny as a cheerful trickster with a great sense of humor. His immense love for his family, friends and pets was felt by all who had the pleasure of knowing “DAN the Man.” He will be greatly missed by all who loved him. He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Benardino and Zulema Cardenas Danny is survived by his wife, Diana Cardenas; four children, David Cardenas, Denise (Jaime) Sifuentes, Dan Cardenas II, and Dina Cardenas; two sisters, Diana Cardenas and Dahlia Villarreal; one brother, Ben Cardenas Jr.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary today, April 7,2013, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. "Goodbye Big Fella" Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
