EDINBURG - Donny Cardenas, 38, died Monday, April 11, 2011.
Donny was born in Edinburg and had lived there all of his life. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Edinburg. Donny was President of Phi Sigma Kappa in 1992 and received his B.A. in English from UTPA in 1996. He was also a graduate of Leadership Edinburg.
He is preceded in death by a son, Baby Noah Cardenas.
Donny is survived by his wife, Marissa Lindsey-Cardenas; two sons, Nicolas Cardenas, Samuel Cardenas, all of McAllen; his parents, Don and Mimi Cardenas, of Edinburg; a sister, Myssie Cardenas-(Xavier) Barajas, of McAllen; two nephews, Michael and Xander Barajas; his in-laws, Ernie and Melba "Sam" Lindsey, of McAllen; beloved aunt, Sissy Gomez, of Edinburg; two uncles, John Gomez, of San Antonio, Texas, Charles (Norma) Cardenas, of McAllen; and a brother-in-law, Frank (Anna) Lindsey, of McAllen.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 pm, with a 7 pm rosary Thursday, April 14, 2011, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 East Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will be at 10 am Friday, April 15, 2011, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment of cremated remains will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to St. Joseph Catholic School, 122 W. Fay, Edinburg, Texas 78539.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
