MATILDE G. CARRALES
PHARR- Matilde G. Carrales entered eternal life on Monday, December 10, 2018.
Mrs. Carrales held pride in her family heritage, she was one of five children of Guillermo and Tomasita Guerra. The Guerra’s were one of the first pioneers of the Rio Grande Valley. If you ever knew Matilde G. Carrales without a doubt she would have left a lasting impression in your life. Every word she spoke was unforgettable, it was usually quoted for years to come. We were blessed to learn many valuable lessons from Matilde during her 93 years by observing how she lived her life with pride, tenacity, integrity, the strength of character, love, and never-ending faith. Tilly was most fondly remembered as a grandmother who nurtured and cultivated joyous memories and moments with her grandchildren. Matilde taught her loved ones the importance of family and for that, we will never forget her, she truly was one of a kind.
Matilde is reunited with her husband, Francisco Carrales; her mother and father, Tomasita and Guillermo D. Guerra; her three siblings, Ramiro Modesto Guerra, Oscar Modesto Guerra, and Alicia Greco.
Her spirit is carried on by her daughter, Rosa Corona (Agustin); three grandchildren, David Brian Salaiz, Theresa Marie Corona, and Valerie Lauren Corona; two great-grandchildren, Olivia and Emily Salaiz; and a sister, Fidela Reed.
