MARTIN CARRANZA EDINBURG - Martin Carranza, 51, died Monday, August 11, 2014, at McAllen Medical Center. Born in Bluffton, OH, Mr. Carranza had lived in Edinburg most of his life. He was a big fan of the Dallas Cowboys. Martin served in the US Army and the Army National Guard. He is preceded in death by his parents, Froylan and Inez Carranza. Martin is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Ann Carranza of Edinburg; a daughter, Brenda Lee Carranza (Aldo Villarreal) of Edinburg; a son, Bryan Martin (Cindy) Carranza of Edinburg; six grandchildren; five brothers, Jose Luis (Amalia) Carranza of Mission, Froylan (Sylvia) Carranza, Jr., Juan Manuel (Mari) Carranza, Jose Guadalupe (Noelia) Carranza, Miguel (Olga) Carranza, all of Edinburg; four sisters, Juana (+Vicente) Hernandez, Maricela (Jose Alberto) Moreno, both of Edinburg, Maria Consuelo (Roel) Vela of Alamo, Celia Carranza of Edinburg; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Wednesday, August 13, 2014, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Thursday, August 14, 2014, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
