VICTOR CARRILLO
PHARR — Victor Carrillo, 88, died Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at Comfort House in McAllen.
Born in Mexico, Mr. Carrillo had lived in Pharr most of his life. He established Vic's Auto Rebuilders in 1967. Mr. Carrillo was very active in the community for many years, and was recognized as citizen of the year by the Pharr Chamber of Commerce in the year 2000. He also received numerous other awards throughout his life.
Mr. Carrillo is survived by his wife, Ida G. Carrillo of Pharr; eight children, Mario (Adela) Carrillo, Connie (Tony) Lozano, Fred (Noraima) Carrillo, Victor (Ana) Carrillo, Jr, Bobby (Dolly) Carrillo, all of Pharr, Ida (Danny) Cuellar of San Juan, Sandra (Roberto) Gonzalez and Johnny (Karla) Carrillo, both of McAllen; 24 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Gloria Jerez of Tampico, Mexico and Anita Silva of Reynosa, Mexico; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 pm, with a 7 pm rosary, today, July 8, 2010 at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will be at 10 am, Friday, July 9, 2010 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr. Pallbearers will be Bobby Carrillo, Johnny Carrillo, Richard Carrillo, Alfredo "Chacho" Carrillo, Victor Carrillo III and Javier Lozano. Honorary pallbearers will be Juan Carlos Carrillo II, Alejandro Carrillo and Bobby Carrillo, Jr.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
