AURORA CASARES SAN JUAN — Aurora Casares, 86, died Sunday, April 20, 2014, at Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen. Born in Weslaco, she had lived in San Juan all of her life. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ernesto Casares, Sr.; parents, Ramon and Guadalupe Guajardo; six brothers, Pablo, Julian, Ramon Jr., Rodolfo, Celestino, and Eulogio Guajardo; two sisters, Luisa Saldivar and Francisca Gutierrez. Mrs. Casares is survived by three children, Ernesto (Oralia) Casares, Jr., Corina (Benancio) Serna, and Rebecca (Hugo) Salazar, all of San Juan; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary today, April 22, 2014, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish in San Juan. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
