DR. REYNALDO CASARES MISSION – Dr. Reynaldo Casares, 55, died Saturday, August 3, 2013, at his residence in Mission. Dr. Reynaldo Casares was born in Edinburg, Texas and had lived in Mission most of his life. He was a parishioner of St. Paul Catholic Church in Mission, and also served as a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was also a member of the Texas Dental Association and American Dental Association. Dr. Casares served his Mission/La Joya community with compassionate dental care for over 30 years. He was happiest when spending time with his loving wife Thelma Casares and their two children; Courtney and Justin. Rey was an avid fan of the Fighting Texas Aggies, his Alma Mater, he loved a great football game along with some of his always delicious barbeque. He loved traveling the world and taking in the beauty of life around him. Rey will be dearly missed and never forgotten. He is preceded in death by his parents, David and Felipa Casares; two brothers, Andres and Oscar Casares. Dr. Casares is survived by his wife, Thelma Casares, of Mission; two children, Courtney Rae Casares, of San Antonio, Texas and Justin Ryan Casares, of College Station , Texas; five siblings, David Casares, Jr., of Cypress, Texas, Angie (Narciso) Pena, of Pearland, Texas, Frank (Linda) Casares, of McAllen, Estela Casares and Jaime (Norma) Casares, both of Edinburg; numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary today, August 6, 2013, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral mass will take place at 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 7, 2013, at St. Paul Catholic Church in Mission. Interment will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens in McAllen. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
