LYDIA M. CASAS
EDINBURG – Lydia M. Casas, 83, died, Tuesday, December 28, 2010, at Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen.
Ms. Casas was born in Edinburg and had lived in there all of her life. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Abundio Casas, two daughters, Imelda Casas, Lydia Casas; and a son, Rodolfo M. Casas.
Ms. Casas is survived by two sons, Miguel (Mary) Mercado of Edinburg, Rolando (Nora) Casas of San Juan; six daughters, Terrie (Rogelio) Paez, Cecilia (Juan) Abrego, Diana Casas all of Edinburg, Linda (Jaime) Smith of Beeville, Texas, Norma (Alfredo) Mireles of Grand Prairie, Texas, Alma (Rod) Tijerina of Princetion, Texas; 24 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
A rosary was held Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg. Funeral service will be at 2 pm today, December 30, 2010, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Santa Anita Cemetery in Linn, Texas. Pallbearers will be Felix Gomez, Manuel Mercado, Ruban Abrego, Rodney Tijerina, Raymond Paez, Ray Maldonado, Jr.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
